Speed Cameras Now Active in School Zones

The speed cameras operate on school days, from one hour before the start of school to one hour after dismissal. Enforcement occurs regardless of whether school zone lights are flashing. Drivers will only receive citations if they exceed the posted limit by more than 10 mph.

Fine Structure:

  • First Offense: $100

  • Additional Offenses: $150 each

All revenue from citations is directed toward local law enforcement and public safety initiatives, ensuring the funds benefit the Macon-Bibb community directly.
