Ticket Proceeds Go To Local Schools

If you are going to scam the public using cameras why not doing something productive and give the money to schools. Proceeds from Red Light Cameras Will Go To Local Schools. The Wilmington North Carolina City Council is shedding light on the future of the red-light cameras. The State Court of Appeals ruled that 90 percent of the proceeds from those cameras must go to the local school system. The case only has to do with the city of High Point. However, both High Point and Wilmington give most of the revenue from those cameras to the contractor that operates the system. City officials say while waiting for this ruling, most of the camera ticket revenue has not been spent.
