5 Apps to Help You Build Your Credit

The modern financial sector is based on credit. Our whole economy is dependent on the fact that you can successfully borrow money and build your credit score. It’s difficult to build wealth, invest in larger purchases, and receive any benefits if you don’t have credit. Whether you have a bad score or simply have never built a credit history, now is the time to start working on your credit. When you have a high credit score, so many doors open to you. With credit being central to building wealth, there have been many apps created to meet this demand. Below are some apps that can help you build credit.

Self

Self is an app with a unique design. It is a free service that offers small personal loans to those who download it. The goal is to build credit by paying back small loans through the app. It has proven itself as a great way to build credit when you don’t have a history or increase your score if it is low. However, it doesn’t work the way traditional loans do. The money will be kept in a secure bank account until you pay it off. Then the money is released to you. Basically, it is designed to never negatively impact your financial standing because you won’t be able to access the money until you pay it off. Still, if you fail to make payments it will harm your score. It isn’t the app to use if you need access to money in a bind, but it is a great way to increase your credit score.

Mint

Mint is another popular financial app that can help you build credit. Mint links your bank accounts and helps you manage your expenses, savings, and bills by providing clear numbers you can understand. They also offer personal loans. You can apply for a personal loan in a wide range of amounts. When you have a better understanding of your finances and can more effectively pay back the money that you owe, you will be able to pay off your debt and watch your credit score go up. Mint is a multi-faceted service that aims to put you in control of your finances. Owned by Intuit, the company that also owns TurboTax and Quicken Loans, they provide a user-friendly interface anyone can get a handle on.

MoneyLion

On the other hand, MoneyLion provides different services than Mint. You can bank digitally with this app, providing the ability to open a checking or savings account. MoneyLion offers an early paycheck feature and a cash advance. Furthermore, they have an investment service like Robinhood that provides information on stocks and what would be a good investment based on the person’s financial profile. MoneyLion has $1,000 credit builder starter loans that, like Self, you won’t receive right away. Still, if you are looking to build credit, MoneyLion is a good option.

Carvana

Do you need a car and to build your credit at the same time? Carvana is an auto loan app that can pre-qualify you in a matter of minutes. With a loan through Carvana, you can build the automotive section of credit that you may be missing. Credit is a multifaceted industry. You should get a Title loan or finance a car using credit if you want to build the other parts of your credit standing that are low.

Possible

Lastly, Possible is a finance app that is a great option for a credit builder loan. The app offers both payday loans and installment alternatives for consumers who don’t have a good credit score. Unlike other apps, Possible can approach your loan and put the money in your account in just minutes. They say that their loans have a very competitive APR that is easier to pay off, making it a great way to boost your credit score.

Whatever you have in mind, these apps can help you build your credit in several ways. Whether you want to take out a starter loan or need to buy a car and want to build credit while you’re at it, these apps can provide an easy, accessible way to take out a loan. Of course, it is important to pay the money back in good time to avoid high interest rates and negatively affecting your score.

Verra Mobility Buys Rival Redflex

Verra Mobility Buys Redflex

The two largest operators of red light cameras and speed cameras are merging. Verra Mobility (formerly American Traffic Solutions or ATS) told investors on Wednesday that it would buy the Australian-based Redflex Traffic Systems for A$146.1 million (US $112.7 million).

"We are delighted at the prospect of welcoming the Redflex team and their customers to the Verra Mobility family," Verra Mobility CEO David Roberts said in a statement about the deal.

Despite its significant share of the photo enforcement market, Redflex stock was depressed by its inability to turn a profit since it was caught in a massive bribery scandal in 2014. Top Redflex executives handed envelopes filled with cash, made large campaign donations and gave other "lavish gifts" to politicians in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New Mexico, Tennessee, Virginia and Washington in return for their endorsement of automated ticketing. A Federal Bureau of Investigation sting operation secured felony convictions for Karen Finley, the head of US operations and a board member of the Australian parent company, for corruption in Chicago, Illinois, and Ohio. More than twenty politicians, photo enforcement executives and public officials have been jailed in similar schemes (view a complete list).

This is not the first time that Redflex and Verra Mobility's predecessor company, ATS, have merged. Redflex formed in 1995 as a communications technology provider for the Australian military, but it soon found that operating automated ticketing machines on behalf of local governments was a more profitable line of business. Redflex undercut rivals with lower prices by, among other things, cutting corners on obtaining regulatory approvals and licenses. By 1999, Redflex was strong enough to buy out ATS (then known as American Traffic Systems) for $1.8 million.

Once their non-compete agreement expired in 2002, the original founders of ATS, Jim and Adam Tuton, created American Traffic Solutions. The Tutons built the company into the largest photo radar and red light camera operator in the United States, often clashing in nasty courtroom battles with its rival Redflex.

"ATS unleashed a crusade against Redflex, its biggest competitor in the photo traffic enforcement industry, to damage it," a Redflex lawyer said at the time.

In 2017, the Tutons cashed out their ownership stake and sold ATS to Platinum Equity, a merger and acquisition firm. The equity firm created Verra Mobility, whose latest purchase proposal requires the approval of Redflex shareholders and government regulators. The company expects the transaction to be completed by May.

What Technology Can We Expect in Our Future Cars?

Is technology the answer to everything? You would think so, given just how much we rely on it in our day-to-day lives. Thanks to the improvements that are constantly being made in technology, there are new prospects available in the realms of IT, safety, and for this article automobiles. We are already seeing tech have an impact on this industry thanks to the increase in the number of people driving electric cars, enhanced safety systems and better navigation. Of course, this begs the question, what will technology be like in our future cars?

Can Technology Go Any Further Than It Already Has?

With every new invention or development in technology that comes about, people start to ask whether it has taken us as far as it can. The fact is that were you to ask this question 20 years ago, someone would have likely had said technology had plateaued. The same goes today, many people out there will say there is nothing more it can do, but then innovative tech companies located in the likes of Silicon Valley and Orange County continue to prove that the possibilities remain very much endless.

The Tech in Future Vehicles

So, what can we expect in our future cars?

-     Self-driving Cars

This has been a product on the tip of every technology and motor enthusiast's tongue for a number of years now, and with each passing moment, we get ever closer to having them as a reality. Of course, there have been some hurdles encountered in the pursuit of self-driving cars, given it requires a huge amount of confidence to be placed in what is essentially a piece of code. This means that the checks being done on self-driving cars are vigorous (rightly so), and as such, it may not be something we see on the roads for some time yet.

-     Augmented Reality Cars

Augmented reality is more commonly known as AR, and it essentially refers to the in-car displays of vehicles that can relay information to different dashboards. This is a great safety feature that cars would benefit from as it would come into practice if there was a vehicle approaching you that would result in a head-on collision.

There would be a display in front of the driver that would show different symbols if all wasn’t well. It would then also display arrows so that the driver knows which way to turn in order to avoid any potential collision.

-     Intercom Between Vehicles

This means that in the future, there will be technology available that will allow cars to pass information to one another. They are going to be able to do this as a means to improve the overall safety of vehicles on the roads. This is because cars are going to become more aware as to when a vehicle is approaching it, what speed they are traveling, and of any other potential threats that might be heading in its direction.

What Does It Take To Start A Car Manufacturing Company?

The automotive business is growing at a rapid pace, producing billions of dollars annually. The market is dominated by Toyota, Volkswagen, Ford, Nissan, and other industry leaders. This isn't to say that there isn't a place for beginners. You may establish your car-building firm and make it a success with a certain strategy and imagination.

Creating your own vehicle company is a lofty ambition and one that, like most aspirational objectives, may be worrisome. It can also be rather costly, although if the business succeeds, one can gain much more than they first invested and legitimately proclaim to be an automobile pioneer.

Browse into Fabauto liners if you're looking for something distinctive. Till then here are the top elements one must look at when assessing a new automobile opportunity's chances of success.

1. Select A Specialty

Design a concept that can revolutionize or enhance the automotive sector. Introducing more of the "usual stuff" to any sector will not be sustainable. Determine a need in the automobile sector that your new business may address.

Determine the potential consumers and their price levels, the technologies the automobile will employ and how much it pertains to its suggested price bracket, how this will comply with existing environmental standards requirements, and how it would be built to expand your vision as far as you can.

So, first and foremost, pick what sorts of cars you want to develop. Electric and green car sales are on the rise all around the world. You'll need a sample to convince investors why they must invest in your startup before you can get funds.

Recruit designers that already have worked in the automobile industry to generate a functional design, then have a model manufactured in a manufacturing facility, either nationally or overseas.

Take into account that a prototype may not be the same as a finished product that reaches customers, but it will help funders and manufacturers understand your vision for the ultimate product.

2. Establish A Powerful Business Strategy

It takes real effort and capital to start an automotive corporation. Plan to employ top staff, negotiate with vendors, and approach financiers. Create a business strategy and follow this as a guide to progress. It should provide an outline of one's company as well as its objective, an overall strategy, market research, revenue projections, and legal implications.

Ensure your strategy includes all aspects of beginning and operating a company of this nature. Determine your consumer profile, research your competition, and be explicit about the automobiles you'll offer. Look for wholesale car parts vendors and get many estimates from them using valid platforms and browsing them on various media platforms..

3. Securing Business Financing

One can't establish a vehicle firm if you don't have enough capital. You'll need to get capital unless you're ready to initiate the firm with your resources. Government funds may be available based on the technology you're deploying and the sort of business you're starting.

Angel investors, Kickstarter projects, and collaborations with established large businesses are some possibilities that you might employ instead of or in addition to funding.

You may begin obtaining everything you'll need for your startup company, such as commercial space, a qualified team, and a production facility, once you've acquired investment.

4. Obey The Guidelines

Following the registration of your firm and the issuance of a reference number, you will be required to apply for several licenses and permissions. To learn further about licensing requirements, contact the Department of Motor Vehicles or go to the DMV webpage.

Remember to include a sketch of both the manufactured product, and a photograph of your company website, an application for an occupational license, a directory of distributors, and other papers, among others.

The manufacturing and storage will also require licenses and permissions. Development permissions, zoning approvals, permits to build, property authorizations, and specialized state-issued business permits are examples of these.

5. Expand Your Automobile Manufacturing Business

Specify whether you'll sell the cars in a showroom, via retailers, or through major suppliers. Another alternative is to contact prospective customers, display your concept, and take special bookings from them.

Create a company website that emphasizes your product and displays what distinguishes you differently. Join automotive enthusiast-oriented newsgroups, discussion forums, and social media groups. Use these channels to gain a better understanding of your core demographic and to market your business. Visit vehicle events and trade exhibits to meet new clients and make contacts.

Conclusion

It's not the tipping point for your automobile company; it's just the beginning. Visit genuine venues for even more insights. Until then, Consider these stages to be the groundwork you must do until you can begin the hands-on job of creating an automobile firm. However, this is a strategy that may be used to tackle a challenging sector.

You're prepared to start addressing your position in the automobile sector now that you have a functioning prototype, a thorough business strategy, and sufficient money.

The Best Rental Car for Your Next Road Trip

Anyone who loves a good road trip knows getting to your destination is half the fun. While many people choose planes as their preferred method of travel, there is something to be said for those who opt to take the scenic route and enjoy the journey.

Planning a road trip means finding new and exciting locations to stop along the way and taking in the breathtaking views you’ll pass.

While road trips are exhilarating, you’ll also need to consider being comfortable and safe while you travel. You won’t want to spend countless hours in a car that makes you feel cramped or is unreliable.

For many people, this means choosing a rental car instead of taking their personal vehicle when embarking on a road trip.

When it comes to choosing a rental car, there are many options available. You’ll want to consider what type of vehicle will work best for you and your situation and look into a guide to rental car insurance to be sure you’re getting the right coverage.

Insurance Coverage for a Rental Car

Before heading out on your adventure, you will want to make sure you’re covered for the vehicle you choose. This is something to consider before arriving at the rental car location because they will likely try to sell you their own rental insurance.

However, your insurance company may offer you rental coverage, meaning you won’t have to purchase from the counter when you pick up your vehicle.

Call and speak to your insurance agent before you walk in the door to rent a car. They can inform you of whether or not your policy covers a rental, how much will be covered, and what your options are.

Using your insurance policy can save you a good chunk of change if you’re planning an extended rental period.

You can also contact your credit card company if you plan to charge the rental to the card and have the vehicle in your name. Many card companies will provide you with coverage.

If none of these options work out, there is always the rental car company’s policy to fall back on. No matter where you choose to get your coverage from, it’s important to have in case anything, such as an accident, were to happen while you are on your trip.

The Right Rental Car for You

You may choose a rental for a variety of reasons. Your current vehicle may not fit the needs of your journey, it may be unreliable, or you simply may not want to add the miles and wear onto your own car.

No matter the reason, it’s essential to consider what you are looking for in a rental to ensure you choose the right car.

A Rental for Better Gas Mileage

If you drive a car in your daily life that guzzles gas like no one’s business, you might be in the market for a rental that’s a little easier on the wallet. You will be traveling long distances after all, and gas prices can vary depending on where you’re traveling.

Suppose fuel efficiency is your main concern; an option such as a hybrid, compact, or economy vehicle will be your best bet. Cars such as a Toyota Prius, Ford Fusion hybrid, Nissan Versa, or Mitsubishi Mirage all will offer you high miles per gallon, allowing you to spend less on fuel costs during your trip.

Keep in mind, options such as these will likely force you to sacrifice space. Unless you choose something such as a full-sized hybrid, you probably will have little room for yourself, your passengers, and your luggage.

These options are best for solo or two-person travel, rather than large groups. Though you can fit more than two people in the vehicle, you won’t have much room left over for luggage.

paper map in car

Choosing a Spacious Rental with Reasonable Fuel Efficiency

On the other hand, your daily driving vehicle may get excellent gas mileage but offer minimal space. This can make travel difficult if you have multiple people traveling or plan on bringing large items with you.

If you’re searching for a more spacious vehicle but don’t want to sacrifice too much of your gas mileage, your best options will be a full-sized car, compact SUV, or a midsize SUV. Vehicles such as a Ford Fusion, Ford Eco, or Toyota RAV4 all offer a more spacious setting without sacrificing too much fuel efficiency.

These cars will typically fit around five passengers comfortably with space for some small to moderate-sized luggage bags.

A Rental With Plenty of Space

If space is your main concern, smaller vehicles simply may not meet your needs. If you have a large family, are planning a trip with multiple people, or plan to bring multiple large items with you, space may be something you simply can’t sacrifice.

You will be better suited for an option such as a standard SUV, full-size SUV, or a minivan. Vehicles like a Ford Edge, Chevy Tahoe, or Toyota Sienna will provide you with ample space for all your passengers and luggage.

You may not find the best fuel efficiency with these types of vehicles, but you won’t be sacrificing any leg room either.

A More Luxurious Rental

Perhaps you’re not looking for space or fuel-efficiency. Instead, you might be looking for an exhilarating experience driving a car you would likely not be able to in your day-to-day life.

Most car rental companies will offer luxury car rentals for you to choose from. Many have a wide range of options — anything from a Cadillac all the way up to a Maserati.

If you choose a luxury vehicle, you will be getting all the perks such as advanced technology, luxury interior designs, and a smooth driving experience.

Keep in mind these rentals will cost far more than any standard car you could choose. But if you’re in the market for a road trip in style, one of these options could be perfect for you.

Rentals for Road Trips

Taking a road trip can be a fun and exciting experience. Finding interesting places to stop, taking in the views, and thoroughly enjoying the journey can make for an unforgettable experience.

Choosing the right vehicle to get the most out of your trip is also essential. Take these tips and look into rental companies near you to find the perfect car for your next road trip. Then get out there and enjoy yourself.

City’s Surveillance Network: Who Monitors the Data?

The popularity of city surveillance has been on the rise recently. More and more countries choose to make a stand on the usage of security cameras on the streets. However, this issue is as controversial as it is confusing. Many still don’t understand the full list of benefits and dangers that such technology can introduce to nations. Yet, it seems that most people have their strong opinions on the matter. Some claim that such a concept violates everything a democracy should be about, while others believe in the safe future due to the new surveillance technology. Overall, there is a little bit of truth in both of those statements.

However, it is not the cameras that make people argue, but the data that they collect. In the wrong hands, such data can lead to grave consequences. Though, where is the line between helping and harming, and who controls the collected data? Let’s take a closer look at the issues and see who actually monitors the data.

What is city surveillance?

So, before we move on to the further discussion, let’s first define what city surveillance actually is, whether it’s good and how, and mention some of the main arguments around this issue. Overall, this is the system of video registration (security cameras) in public places. Such cameras are installed with the sole purpose of enhancing safety and security in those areas. Some countries are very big on city surveillance, such as the UK, for instance, and some states in the US (mainly for road safety, though). However, the idea of city surveillance is a controversial one.

For example, the opponents of this technology claim that it works against democratic principles. Being constantly watched by the government is not something people are ready to let slide without any resistance. However, a lot is missing in such an approach, like the notion that no one is actually watching the entire population at all times. Surely, the belief in the opposite can cause true paranoia among many. You may even check out some of the nursing writing services reviews, and order a paper on mental health and the role of city surveillance on one’s anxiety and mental state. Such a report will give you a perspective on the issue, too.

Overall, as in many other cases, introducing technologies into public policies comes with some resistance as any other novelty. Yet, the city surveillance network can, indeed, help to reduce crime and react to emergencies more urgently. Of course, such technologies should come with a strong mechanism for legal oversight and the public's ability to review the surveillance on demand. So, let’s see who gets to monitor and control these cameras and when they come in handy.

Who can watch the data from the security cameras?

So, who can watch the data from the security cameras? To put it simply, the government should be the body to manage the surveillance, including giving access to the data, when judicial institutions should be the only legal body to have the right to monitor those public cameras. The access of any third party should be authorized by legal bodies in case there is enough evidence to share the data. However, overall, access to this data should be limited and treated with precariousness and understanding of its value.

Let’s also be clear here. No one is really sitting in a dark room watching thousands upon thousands of monitors at once. That’s not why the city surveillance is here. Instead, there are other methods police and other legal bodies integrate city surveillance into their work routine. For instance, in the case of lack of evidence and witnesses, cameras can be used to document the event of a crime or the lack of such. The face identification features available on most modern surveillance cameras can also significantly enhance police work, yet they have the most controversy around them. Let’s see some of the common worries people have over the safety and usage of city surveillance data.

Is there any harm?

The data collected by the city cameras can carry significant importance. Of course, on the one hand, it can help the police identify criminals, find missing people or stolen cars, and much more. Such positive usage of the collected data is undoubtedly great for the communities, their safety, and overall well-being. However, on the other hand, mistreatment of such data can lead to pretty dire consequences. For example, not democratic states can use city surveillance to monitor, track, and oppress citizens of certain groups of people, like religious or ethnic minorities.

In addition, when the control over such data is poorly regulated, it can get to the black market, where it carries high value among criminals and criminal organizations. In fact, the growth of the digital black market and the value of information on it is a whole different story. You can see some of the pay me to do your homework reviews on writingpapersucks.com and order a paper on the topic from the professionals. However, one thing is clear here. There are cases in the world when it’s unknown who monitors the data and what value it represents to certain people.
