Photo Enforced Stop Sign Camera

Photo Enforced Stop Sign Camera Sensor

Photo enforced stop sign cameras are in operation in a few locations in California but a growing trend of cities desperate for money may change that soon. Stop sign cameras are issuing minor cities in these Southern California cities: Los Angeles, Topanga and Pacific Palisades.  This intersection pictured above is in the Temescal Canyon Gateway Park.  We are aware of two other cameras which are located in Franklin Canyon, located off of Mulholland Drive, and another at the top of Topanga.Failure to come to a complete stop or roll through an intersection like this will get you a ticket of $125 in the mail.  Pictured above is a maroon camera in the background and the sensors just before the stop sign.   Photo enforced stop sign cameras are in operation in a few locations in California but a growing trend of cities desperate for money may change that soon.

Rolling right turn cameras are another trend that is growing and these fines are typically around $150 in California.  Running a red light camera on the other-hand will get you a fine of nearly $500.  You can access tour entire database of stop sign cameras throughout the USA by searching our database at PhotoEnforced.com

Looks like they're finally about to expand the use? This is going to get ugly...I believe I mentioned the railroad crossing camera being used in Santa Ana. There are some railroad crossings in Los Angeles that are photo enforced too.

These photo stop sign tickets are bogus. They have nothing whatsoever to do with safety. These parking lots are virtually empty 95% of the time! Who is endangered when a driver rolls through a stop sign when they are the only moving vehicle for miles? Exactly how many accidents and fatalities have happened in the Temescal Canyon parking lot? Willing to bet: about zero.

Also, the tickets say that the owner of the vehicle is responsible for the ticket even if they weren't driving the car. It has got to be illegal to make one person responsible for another person's violation.

If the parks and cities want to generate revenue, there are more honest ways to do it. These are counterproductive, discouraging visitors to the parks when they should be encouraging visitors. If the public has a good feeling about a place, they will support it with donations and labor. But all I hear about when people talk about Temescal these days are the creepy big brother photo stop signs. $179 during a recession ... They took a heavenly place and destroyed al good feeling about it.

I was in California over 2 months ago and was just notified about 2 tickets for not stopping long enough for a stop sign by a stop sign camera. I dont understand how this is legal and feel like I am being scammed. How can a machine prove or say this? help

This is getting ridiculous. What's next? Radar transmitters in cars so they can monitor you 24/7? Dashboard cameras so they can watch you for every second of every time you're on the road? Cameras in your own house?

A while back, the CIA predicted that the next American revolution might happen by 2014 which, when I first learned about it, I thought was preposterous. But now with things like they are now, it makes me wonder if that prediction is right on track to come true.

Fight these tickets tooth and nail if you got one! They absolutely need to prove who was driving the car with a photo of the driver! Don't let them lie to you and say you need to tell them who was driving either. You have no obligation to do so!

A friend got one of these at a stop sign at the top of Reseda, south of Ventura Blvd. It was issued by Mountains Recreation & Conservation Authority. Has anyone else gotten one there or by this agency? Is this legal?

You guys are all very pathetic crybabies. Firstly, most of these have big signs that say "photo enforced" under the stop signs. Secondly, it's a STOP sign, not a slow down sign... all you have to do to avoid a ticket is stop.

    Grow a pair.

Looks like it's about time to start destroying these cameras. If it's not a human pulling me over or handing me the ticket there is nobody to take to court. It is a system that is unconstitutional. To hell with it.
